Hi, Anyone have a reason why I should buy the Roland 1080 instead of the 2080? I'm buying one or the other strictly for commercial purposes. The 2080 appears to be better (albeit more $$$), but occassionaly I hear people refer to the 1080 as more of a standard. Any thoughts? Thanks, Adam

+ the 2080 has a bigger display which makes it MUCH easier to edit. Markus McCulloch wrote: > From: "Markus McCulloch" <markusm@...> > > I've got a 20-80. Sonically they are identical. With the 2080 you get the possibility to have up to 8 expansions cards, 4 with the 1080. The 2080 also has a larger and much easier to use screen. There is no reason to get the 1080 over the 2080 other than that it is slightly cheaper. It is only referred to as the standard because it came first. ---------------------------------------- Leszek Gasiorek leszek@... www.controlzone.com ---------------------------------------- ----- Original Message -----

By the way, is there a difference in the number of physical outputs?? AFAIK the 1080 has 6 different outputs, but I don't know how many the 2080 has. Cheers, Gilles adam_kendall@... wrote:

I've got a 20-80. I understand the difference is in the number of cards you can add, and also in the effects configurations (more effects?). Sorry i can't be of more help. There's a NG at the Lil'chips website -Markus
