It's not any worse than "ProTools".

All you guys, I can assure you that you needn¹t be a worried about names...
I can assure you with the utmost knowledge and confidence that Logic will
remain Logic as will Shake remain Shake. Logic is not the only program they
took over via a corporate overnight mugging. So those of you afraid that the
creative folks at Apple in Cupertino who brought you some of the greatest
User Interface and Machine designs in the industry (and award-winning as
well) will give you a lame-o name for logic you can sleep easy, because I
promise you they won¹t.

Read this - jeff Raskin's take on where Cupertino's taken the interface.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/online/story/0,,1331536,00.html

The folks who designed the Mac (not Steve he tried to kill it repeatedly -
the Lisa was his baby) don't apparently think so much of the interface
these days.

Virtual PC for G5 finally here!

2004-10-27 by Dave Shirk

Hey All!

I tried to post this on LUG - but as I figured - too OT.

I just - finally received yesterday - Virtual PC 7. All
previous versions will not run on a G5. Anyhow - other
than the install instructions being all wrong - after
a bit - I got it loaded - with Windows XP Pro.

So far - I am impressed (and Surprised)! It runs great
on the 2x2 G5 with 4GB Ram. About 2-3 times faster
than my old 900Mhz Pentium box.

Dave,

It would be very interesting to hear about a comparison of audio
applications "VPC7 vs OS X". Just any application that you have in both
WinXP and OS X version. How much CPU power do we loose out on the VPC
"middle man"?

I've been thinking about investing in the Office suite and it seems
that this VPC comes bundled then? I still have my SoundForge 5 and miss
it a lot. My last audio PC went belly up the same week I bought my G5
one year ago (an action of protest?)

Greetings from Sweden

Hey Per!

Unfortunately - I have no Music related apps for Windows.
I have always used a Mac for Music apps. So I can be of no assistance
with this request.

I will be upgrading to the new version soon, and I will let you know how the comparisons go. I hope to have time to do it but am very curious b/c I still really love sound forge!
