Live Aid DVD

2004-11-20 by markdvc2002

The concerts in Wembley stadium and Philadelphia which took place on
July 13 1985 have been released as a set of 4 (!) DVDs. For an old
guy like me, very nostalgic and enjoyable to look back on, for some
of the younger people here, a very, very worthwhile piece of music
history. The proceeds, of course, go to the Band Aid trust. The show
was, IMHO, superb, with so many highlights, and, viewed from a
technical/roadie point of view, with some 53 acts performing on two
continents, one has to ask the question "how ever did they pull that
off" and pay tribute to an amazing achievement, for the most noble of
intentions :-).

might make a nice Christmas present for someone ....

kind regards

Live Aid DVD

I picked it up yesterday and it is awesome...even the extra-that profiled
how it all began and ended was very well done...enough to even interest my 7
year old son into watching it...I didn't get to watch the entirety of it but
I got to relive some of my favorite moments for sure...I just noted a couple
of losses...no Led Zep reunion and the technical glitches are gone as well
(Geldof's mic outage in 'rat trap' was not included - which was the Rat's
finale) and I think at least one Who song was cut...but I knit pick...I LOVE
this DVD and recommend it for anyone who wants to revel in that glory again
or turn someone on who may have missed it...cya Don
