Let's be glad that the startup sound is not chip-related, or 
otherwise we would soon be hearing the Windows jingle coming out of 
Macs.  That's at least _some_ sort of consolation.  Although I would 
hate to see an Intel-inside sticker on my new G7...

Oh well, it seems that in a desperate attempt to keep up with the 
Mac's performance, PC manufacturers consider switching to the 
Motorola 680x0 family :).  So in the end the circle might well be 
round again...

Actually I think we might need to invoke a more complex topology ;-)
