Is it possible to move audio files via USB, PC to Mac?

Is it possible to move audio files via USB, PC to Mac?

2005-11-02 by Roman Pirie

I have purchased a visual mastering program called 'Har-Bal' which is
only available for PC. I am a G5 user.
Har Bal only requires a 500Mhz PC so I got an old laptop to run it. I
just need to copy a full stereo song file to the PC from the G5. Then
EQ it in Har Bal and copy it back to the Mac. I have seen a product on
a local auction site that enables such a connection. It is a USB to USB
cable with a floppy disk of software.
Just seeing if anyone has info about these sort of things, experiences
maybe?
Cheers,
Roman Pirie.

Recommended by friends on this list I bought the Windows application
MacDrive. Now I can use the same LaCie FireWire800/400/USB for both
my Apple Powerbook and my Centrino lappy running XP. Neat!!!! Oh, I
keep the external drives OS X formatted. I guess MAcDrive would do
the trick for you too.

My next project with MacDrive is to "save" the content of two 160 GB
internal drives from my dead G5. The plan is to mount the drives
inside a desktop PC, with MacDrive installed, and move them over to
the Firewire drives I now prefer.

Hi,

I recommended the application MacDrive a while back. Now I have to
add a little reminder: it seems as when you have MacDrive installed
on a Windows machine it can not detect installation CDs correctly.
Over here I had to de-install MacDrive for a while when installing
Logic PC and Kontakt 2 from CD/DVD. Before I did that Windows only
detected the installation discs as "Mac files". Just something you
need to know, generally speaking I'm very happy with MacDrive.

you can connect both computers directly through a 100Mb network card, create a windows workgroup(use the microsoft help) and set file sharing on both computers and you can even record through this ad- hoc network from one computer to another computer's Hard Drive

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
