The 16A is a condenser with a cardiod pattern as you say but I still can't get enough separation with it even when it's right up against the hihat, I even tried to put a little tube around it to stop it picking up outside sounds(without blocking the vents),, nothing doing,,,,hmmmmm Cheers Dave DaStudio Johannesburg South Africa
