Dear Mr. Yodathegreat,

I was simply responding to your blanket statement that "no 
professionals use gcc".  I don't see how that lead to comparisons of 
benchmarks, download speeds, and what language the ts engineer 
speaks.

But since you brought up the subject, I did benchmarks and object 
code comparisons and there was little if any difference, and no 
practical difference because the limiting factor in my projects has 
been peripheral speed.  YMMV.

Regarding jtag download speeds, it was established in an earlier 
series of posts that download speed is mostly limited by the lpc 
hardware so all the usb-based emulators download at about the same 
speed.

Finally, if support in french is important, why didn't you list that 
as one of your original constraints in your compiler choice?  That 
may or may not be relevant to the original poster's question.

The tone of this discussion is becoming too religious for me so I 
will say no more.
