I'm currently working on getting it to work with an SD card.
As far as I understand, SD cards also support the "SPI mode",
just like MMC cards.
If/when I get something working, I'll let you know.

My hardware platform is an LPC2148 quickstart board + a
protoboard from embedded artists. This board has an SD/MMC
connector attached to the SPI0 port.
