The next "Read device ID" then is again successful, even if ignoring the request to reset the board. So, if your TX stays low, no matter what you do, I guess you have a faulty board, either controller damaged, line shortened or transceiver damaged. I'd inspect the soldering to see if there are some shorts, especially the "expansion" connector, that carries TXD0 next to GND. hth -uwe
