I understand, but my problem is that my SPI devices are 25 cm away (in another board) from the board with my uC. So, I have two boards with SPI devices attached to my CPU board, with flat cables, and I could not have another line in the flat cable with the CS signal, so, I needed to write the SPI protocol in firmware...
