Before we even worry about CRP, have you tested the pull-up resistors 
on Port 1. The data sheet says they are there but my 2148 doesnt seem 
to have them.

P.S. 

I switched over to the Realview compiler instead of the Keil Carm. My 
code seems more stable than it ever has been. I will need to check 
some more but so far Realview is looking really good.
