What capacity and speed exactly do you need?
Try serial flash (SPI) from ST like M25P40-4Mbit/25MHz/SO8 or bigger
(And you can have a number of devices on SPI bus)

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
