when you take into account that this is ARM9, MMU, 166Mhz core, 66Mhz 
data bus, 16+16 KB cache, 2x USB 2.0 hosts and Ethernet MAC build in, 
this is the lowest cost and richest of peripherials device I've seen

external Flash and Ram is much cheaper than internal Flash and Ram, 
for instance SDRAM is around $0.20-$0.30/MB and FLASH is $0.50-1.00/MB
Linux and Win.CE ports are ready available
