Hi Gus, I think they are disabled. In the User's Manual which can be found here: http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/acrobat_download/usermanuals/UM_LPC21XX_LPC22XX_2.pdf On page 267 the flow chart shows that boot will be aborted if external boot is selected and security signature is set.
