memory protect on LPC22xx

memory protect on LPC22xx

2005-02-07 by Gus

Hello,

How memory protect is usefull on LPC22xx parts? I see it useless!
Anyone can change the BOOT pins to make the chip start from external
FLASH to copy the internal FLASH contents!

Shouldn't memory protect disable BOOT pins?

Thanks,

Gus

Hi Gus,

I think they are disabled.
In the User's Manual which can be found here:
http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/acrobat_download/usermanuals/UM_LPC21XX_LPC22XX_2.pdf
On page 267 the flow chart shows that boot will be aborted if external
boot is selected and security signature is set.

Cheers, Bob

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
