Only seven connections are in fact used for the LPC2000. I'd select a 
suitable small connector and make an adaptor for it, interfacing to 
the standard connector. This sort of arrangement is quite common for 
other MCUs that use a JTAG connector, like the MSP430. That actually 
uses a 2x5 header as standard, but that is too big for some people.
