Hi Bill,

I agree the Oki parts are nice BUT, it is my understanding that they
cost approx. the same amount without Flash as the LPC2104 with Flash.
Adding an external bus to the LPC2100 and staying in a similar price
range with flash is what I expect from Philips and in this case
Philips will have the small devices (microcontroller) and the devices
with the external bus. However, I do agree, the Philips portfolio
needs these additional devices to cover applications with larger
memories or memory mapped I/O. There are a couple major shows coming
uo, may be there will be announcements. First the Embedded World in
Nuremberg, then the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco. If
neither triggers official announcements and availability of
documentation, I will give the OKI device another close look but until
then I want to believe the rumors that the external bus devices are
due very soon.

Cheers, Bob
