Hi Bill, I agree the Oki parts are nice BUT, it is my understanding that they cost approx. the same amount without Flash as the LPC2104 with Flash. Adding an external bus to the LPC2100 and staying in a similar price range with flash is what I expect from Philips and in this case Philips will have the small devices (microcontroller) and the devices with the external bus. However, I do agree, the Philips portfolio needs these additional devices to cover applications with larger memories or memory mapped I/O. There are a couple major shows coming uo, may be there will be announcements. First the Embedded World in Nuremberg, then the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco. If neither triggers official announcements and availability of documentation, I will give the OKI device another close look but until then I want to believe the rumors that the external bus devices are due very soon.
