No not at all. IMO Philips still have a way to go to meet Atmels level of documentation. And atmels website is a thousand times better than Philips. You can view tables fullscreen properly. Things a half decent web designer should be able to do very easily. Compare these two links http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/markets/mms/products/microcontrollers/product_catalog/16_32bit/index.html http://www.atmel.com/dyn/products/param_table.asp?family_id=607&OrderBy=part_no&Direction=ASC Additionally Atmel lets you download it to use in excel or http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=74 http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/catalog/219/282/45988/45993/45994/ and http://www.microchip.com/ParamChartSearch/chart.aspx?branchID=1004&mid=10&lang=en&pageId=74 Lot more docs for the avr , lot more app notes. Lot more code available on the net for the avr. Should be able to get the usarts up and running in c , in a lot faster than that on the avrs. Tried getting the usarts working by themselves before adding the rest of your code ? Alex
