I tried Hi-Tech's offering for MSP430 (of course). I must admit that I was disappointed with it (code generation below par, horrible IDE), so no competition to us. If the ARM tools are the same, as I expect they are, I think they're overpriced and not of sufficient quality. I think our approach is right. However, we're considering replacing GCC with something a bit more capable.
