Lpc2000

I am using LPC2131 dev board from new micros, and am trying to get some 
of the hex file examples to run, but I am running into problems.  I am 
trying their hello.hex example which prints hello over and over again 
on a terminal window (I am using NMITerm).  
  I upload the hex file through LPC 2000 flash utility and everything 
loads fine but when i open NMITerm and setup all the settings nothing 
happens.  

  Also I tried the blinky.hex example which makes the chips LEDs 
flash.  when i load the hex file on it doesn't start flashing.  

What could be the problem?  bad serial cable?  LPC2000 flash utility 
reads the board ID though.
