There is a lot of information about how serial keyboards operate (XT,
AT, PS/2) out there on the net. Just go to google and do a little
research. There is a lot(!) of documentation available for how the
protocol works and a lot(!!!) of sample code on many many different
processors.

The keyboard is an intelligent subsystem of the computer, you have to
hold a simple conversation with it. It has it's own unique protocol.

Regards,

TomW

Hello,
The PC/AT keyboard has 4 connection pins, two being Vcc and Gnd, the other two being the data and the clk pins. Connect both the pins to the pins of LPC and configure them in input mode. At every clock transition read the status of the data pin and shift the bit in a register until stop is detected. You get the 8 bit scan code of the character pressed.

  Cheers,
   Vineet.
