hi all

i want to have two way RF link between my computer and LPC2148
development board using USB bluetooth device.

do any one have any experience interfacing USB bluetooth and LPC2148.
if this is not possible please suggest alternative for full duplex RF

Hi,
Is it for development purposes or do you want to add
Bluetooth functionality to your LPC2148 based system?

For the latter case, you can use a serial Bluetooth
dongle from baracoda.com with LPC2148 board(serial
port) and use an USB dongle with your PC. A virtual
COM port is created by the Bluetooth driver on your
PC. Effectively, you will have a "wireless serial
cable".

Sorry, read it as "For the former case,....." i.e.
development purposes.

Ask Zbausa.com if they still have the Bluteooth Mini Module
development kit. Was $300, pretty good.

Hi Sudhir,
You will have to import it from US/UK. If you google
for it, you will find it in a couple of online shops.
It costs about 150USD + courier fee + import duty. You
will also need a 5V power supply(wall mount). Guess
you can buy a local make to avoid connector problems.

Re: lpc2148 and USB bluetooth - use LMX9830

2006-02-10 by Jan Szymanski

Hi Balaji,

Another option is to use LMX9830 module from National. It has a
build in (limited) bluetooth stack. Use it's serial port profile to
implement a transparent serial port.

http://www.national.com/appinfo/wireless/simply_blue.html

Good luck.
Jan

Re: lpc2148 and USB bluetooth - use LMX9830

2006-02-11 by katta_sudhir

Hi jan

i got samples samples of LMX9830 but the problem is the chip is BGA
package and in india it cost around 600$ to get the multilayer pcb
design done for it. more over i need very stable crystal with 15ppm
and the national's development software is not available for samples.
so i cant configure the chip even after spending 600$ and i have to
use with default settings.

Re: [lpc2000] Re: lpc2148 and USB bluetooth - use LMX9830

2006-02-11 by balaji cr

Hi,
That is the reason I asked if it is for development
purposes. Serial dongle can be used right out of the
box. USB dongles sell in higher volumes as they
support all profiles (Upper Layers of the stack run on
the PC). Serial dongle is a little expensive compared
to USB dongle. Some vendors cut the prices often.
Google is your friend.:)
