Serial Programming Keil MCB 2140 boards

Has anyone had flaky problems getting connection to either the 2130 or 2140 eval boards? I have 2 2140 boards and 1 2130 board and all three have the same issue. After entering ISP mode (Hold INT1 and press RESET), when pressing READ ID, sometimes it connects fine. Other times, when pressing READ ID, it jumps out of ISP mode and starts the code again, like a hard RESET. Sometimes entering the ISP mode again, and pressing READ ID works fine. Other times, I have to press READ ID first, then quickly enter ISP mode and it connects. It seems one or the other process works all the time, but I don't know which one. If it doesn't work you get 'Cannot communicate with test board'. This happens on multiple computers. Any ideas? Not a major problem. But, it would be nice to know exactly which ISP sequence will connect in all instances.
