Hi, I just received an IAR kickstart board + software. Does anybody know if IAR workbench supports GCC?

AFAIK no. And why should it. IAR is the better compiler (w.r.t. size and 
speed of the generated code).

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
