Analog Devices Microconvertor

Analog Devices Microconvertor

2004-03-28 by Robert Adsett

I don't know if anyone else has seen this yet, but I just ran across
it. Analog devices is expanding their microconvertor family to include ARM
variants. Quick summary less flash and ram than the LPC (finer grained
flash), slower clock, better A/D's and they have D/A.

Leon, I wonder if the groups charter shouldn't be expanded to include these
and the Atmel micros as they become available? I could argue that they
shouldn't, but I thought I should pose the suggestion.

I too would argue that it does not make sense to expand the group.
Consider the group a resource for understanding these parts,
particularly for those starting out with the part. Having stuff about
other parts just adds clutter and confusion.

Postings of new parts are entirely appropraite though.

I'm not very keen on this. These devices have their own individual quirks
and it would be better for each of them to have their own forum, if there is
enough interest.

I saw this. It is not clear how soon they will be shipping. You have
to contact them since there is nearly no information available on the
web page.

There is already a group for ARM CPUs in general, "arm-user". It does
not have a lot of activity, so I doubt if anyone would complain if
posts were made about new products.

according to the Analog contact we have they intend to start
production in October 2004 i.e. parts will be available 3-4 month
later
now they have engineering samples they send to selected parties only
if the project is interesting to Analog marketing team :)
