Anyone using ARM ADS 1.2 IDE?

Anyone using ARM ADS 1.2 IDE?

2004-08-02 by markcrow

I recently resurrected an old toolkit (ARM ADS V1.2) to use
developing a Philips LPC2106 based system. I can't get this software
to properly build anything that runs anywhere close to reasonable
(myriad failures of one sort or the other). Anyone out there had
success with this toolkit? Anyone had similar difficulties with this
toolkit?

Try test1.zip from the files area. It contains ADS1.2 project.
ADS 1.2 is one of the best tools I have come across. Using latest
patches might help too

Hi,

I would like to use ARM ADS 1.2 for starting development on a Philips
LPC2106 too. So I would like to ask if there is an easy to use
possibility to download to and debug from flash. I tryed CrossWorks
from Rowley (http://www.rowley.co.uk/). There you can download to
flash and start debugging from flash with one mouseclick. It would be
great if this would be able with ARM ADS 1.2 too.
I have two JTAG interfaces - a Wiggler-Clone from Olimex and a JEENI
from EPI. So I think with the right tool it shoul be possible.

Best regards,

Markus

The ARM Debuggers (ADW/AXD/RealView) support flash programming, however, you
may need to adapt it for LPC2000. Our PathFinder debugger supports the ARM
ADS/RealView toolsets and has integrated flash programming/debug support for
LPC2000. PathFinder however only works with our JTAG interfaces
(Opella/Genia/Vitra). A less satisfactory option is to use the Philips
LPC2000 Flash programmer to program your .HEX files; it should then be
possible to debug (with source) in the ARM debuggers. Its not an integrated
solution though.
