Hello, I need information about memory stick, spec, formats, pinouts, etc. Where I can found or download information about it? Where I can found sockets for memory sticks to use it with lpc2106? Thanks in advance. Claudio [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I guess you are thinking about PC memory right - like SDRAM and so on. The external memory interface on the LPC22xx is for ROM/RAM/IO, that will not connect directly, you'll need a DRAM controller. Or maybe you think about the Sony memory stick? --- In lpc2000@yahoogroups.com, "Claudio M. > I need information about memory stick, spec, formats, pinouts, etc. Sony used to make most of their spec available (several years ago while they were trying to encourage people to adopt the format). Now they've either established it enough, or given up on trying to get others interested. So everything is closed and you need to pay a large annual membership fee to get the materials. I archived the public materials and have TEMPORARILY made them available for download from http://www.larwe.com/technical/datasheets/memorystick.zip - get it quick, because I am not going to leave it up there. This does NOT include information about Pro, Duo, MagicGate, but it is enough info to write a basic storage card implementation. > Where I can found sockets for memory sticks to use it with lpc2106? Why memory stick? why not SD? If you are thinking of a product, you can't use SONY stuff! Gus --- In lpc2000@yahoogroups.com, "Claudio M. Just like SmartMedia, XD, and Memory Stick. MMC is *almost* open. CompactFlash is closer to being open. -- Lewin A.R.W. SD and MMC are identical at the simple memory level. M.

To use the the "SD" secure digital stuff you need a license. Otherwise you can pick up the specs at http://www.sandisk.com/industrial/manuals.asp JOe

> SD and MMC are identical at the simple memory level. Sort of a backwards statement. SD has an MMC emulation mode, so to speak. -- Lewin A.R.W.
