Yahoo group new look???

Yahoo group new look???

2005-03-28 by Rick Collins

Am I the only guy who does not care for the "new" yahoo groups look?
I find the colors hard to read and the organization of the pages puts
less info on the screen.

I sent Yahoo a note and they replied that "These service changes are
final and no exceptions will be granted." Interesting way to put it.

Has anyone else dropped them a line, or do most people like the new
look?

Stylistically I like the new look, but find it infuriating in exactly
the same way as you: I subscribe to more than 10 lists and I can't go
right to them from the home page, needing extra clicks. And when I do
read posts using a browser, I they're in some ghastly grey that I can't
easily read.

I don't like it, I haven't, but I might.

Hi Rick,

I only read posts by having them Emailed to me directly.
Are you referring to reading them on Yahoo's URL ?
In that case I give it a miss, having the ads come up all the time
before "proceeding" to a message, yuk.

I gave up on email since I subscribe to a lot of lists and I don't
want that much email in my in box. Plus it is very distracting to
have the email alert every couple of minutes.

While reading these replies, I noticed another change; they reversed
the order of the messages on the "messages" page and now the "next"
button takes you to the previous message and vice-versa. Like Yahoo
email, next is now the next older message, not the next one in time or
thread.

I'm only on 4 groups or so, so it's not so bad.
Hiowever, what's painful, is that there's been times where I get
[re : xxxx] topic Emails, whilst I might receive the __original__ post
up to 24 hours later !!!!

For example, earlier on there was a [RE : signal level] post on Y! MSP430.
It's now 3 hours later, and I still didn't get the original post Emailed to
me :-)

How does one get notified when there's a post, but not to have it Emailed to
you ?
I thought the only options were to have bulk once every 24 hours, Emailed
every post,
or you "go and look yourself"...

I only see this behavior in the LPC group.

(And, worse, since I am in this group I get spam :(
