Does it bother anyone else that the Port Pins on the Philips LPX2xxx 
chips are scattered all over the chip?  Why on earth did Philips do 
that?

I guess they are grouped according to their main functionallity (which is 
not GPIO).
So the UART pins are together, the CAN pins etc.
