Reading IOPIN on 2106

Reading IOPIN on 2106

2005-07-19 by Jay Prunty

The data sheet says I can read IOPIN to get the pin
states regardless of direction and mode. I'm trying
to read the SSEL line (P0.7) when I have it configured
for the SPI as a slave device. The value returned
does not reflect the value of the SSEL line. I have
no problem reading P0.9, but it is configured as a
gpio line. Can you really read the status of the line
through IOPIN when the line is configured for a
function other than gpio?

Thanks

Jay

Hi Jay,

there was a thread long ago dealing with a similar issue, it starts
with message #1672.
According to that thread, the I/O pins can only be read while
configured as I/O. As soon as they are configured with a special
function (e.g. SSEL), this seems not to work any more.
