Information on LPC2148?

2005-09-06 by t_g_decker

Hi,
I've been searching the Philips website for quite a while now, but I
cannot find anything on the LPC2148 device with USB...can anyone
explain to me why that is?? You would think this device would show up
at least in some overview table, but there's nothing to be found on
this part. How real is this part?
Consequently, I was also not able to find any tool support...where
can I get an evaluation kit for this device?
Thanks,
Tom

The part is real. I ordered an IAR demo board from LPCTools and got it
the next day.

The specs are on the Philips site. Pretty complete except for power
numbers and some of those have been posted on this site.

Hi Tom,

please go from here: http://www.philips.com/microcontrollers
This is a new link that gets you to results faster. Search there
for "LPC2148". You can download the Data Sheet. For the Users
Manual you will have to follow the link to technical documentation.

If you need additional information the link above is a good start.

Evaluation Kits:
From Keil here:
http://www.keil.com/mcb2140
with 2 excellent USB examples, one for HID, one for Mass Storage
Or from IAR here:
http://www.iar.com/index.php?
show=12777_ENG&&page_anchor=http://www.iar.com/p12777/p12777_eng.php
If this link does not work, go to www.iar.com and look for "Starter
Kits"

Hope this gets you going

Hello Tom,
we have both the IAR and the Keil kit for the LPC2148 in stock (with
or without JTAG debuggers).
To make it easier to find documentation (and evaluation kits) for
the Philips LPC2000 devices, check out our recently updated LPC2000
jump table here:
http://www.lpctools.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=5
It includes links to the LPC2148 Data Sheet and User Manual (among
many others).
Regards,
LPC Tools

IAR starter kits are pretty complete with the code
(accept for some CAN, SPI code)but the board is with
the LPC2138 (no USB) but with the starter kit you will
recieve the J-Link USB JTAG which is built to also
power-up the board!!

The IAR code for the startup kit was awfull - but it runs I guess. Yep I
get all the mail from LPC2000 at yahoo so I know all about the state of
readiness - I'm just halfway through the H/W design for the LPC2138 and I
dont want to worry about USB at this stage.

Hello everyone,
Found the documentation and the tools. Pretty straight forward - if you know where to look...
Thanks for your inputs!
