JTAG chain

JTAG chain

2005-09-19 by me_farahat

Is it possible to cascade more than one LPC controller in a JTAG chain?
I tried this with my protoboard but no success, only the first
controller in the chain can be programmed.
I am using Keil uVision3 and Ulink for debugging

Any help would be appreciated .

No, I don't think this is possible. When the JTAG
looks at the first port it is "tied" to the TAP, maybe
if your debugger supports multiple TAPS?

You most certainly can do this in general, but....

... the JTAG debugger must be aware of the extra items in the chain and must
know how to bypass them.

While you are programming one device, the others must be set in BYPASS. Not
all debuggers allow you to do this. Ask the Ulink tech support people. They
might have an answer.
