Where To Order LPC2138

Where To Order LPC2138

2005-10-31 by rtstofer

Any suggestions for a supplier in the US for the LPC2138 in quantities
of 1 or 2? Digikey is out of stock until late December which isn't
very comforting. I don't want to design in a part that I can't get.

I have over 100 LPC2138's that I don't need because I decided to switch to
the LPC2148. I was going to put them on ebay, but if anyone is interested
I'll sell any of them for the Digikey price for a given quantity. Email me
offlist if you are interested.

I want to buy ARM9 evaluation board with USB 2.0 host controller on-board, and GNU C compiler, JTAG ICE.
 Any suggestions? Thanks.

I requested samples directly from Philips, they showed up
in a week or so. Try that perhaps.

I can't do samples, I am retired and don't represent any commercial
interest. I know, I could do it anyway; it's just a thing.

However, DigiKey does stock the LPC2148 for the same price. I don't
need USB or any of that stuff but as my application isn't power
sensitive (and the datasheet doesn't even promise to tell my how
much power the chip takes) the 2148 will do fine.

Hey Richard,

I don't represent any commerical interest either, just having
fun with ARM chips. I don't recall having to enter the final
application when asking for samples. If I did, I guess I came
up with something reasonable, given that once I play with the
parts, I'll find something useful for them.

FYI, I've found the Keil development boards very useful. When
I looked at the 2148 part, I noticed several sites selling
the board (without JTAG) for about $150. Not to bad.

There are 470 pieces of the LPC2138 in LQFP64 available at Digikey
today. More pieces will be delivered to Digikey by the end of
November.

Future Electronics has stock and will sell small qty shipped within US
in 1-2 days. The price on LPC2138FBD64 is $ 8.75
In fact if you are designing a commercial product they will give you an
eval board and samples for free.
