I will comment on the "usability" of these on the list that I have experience with. I use exclusively the Yamaha FC-7 but have never actually seen the other Yamaha pedals. I have also used the Roland EV-5. If you want a nice long throw the Yamaha FC-7 is excellent. It is fully rubber coated, quiet and smooth operating. Additionally, the throw angle is adjustable, optimized for a standing or seated position. The Roland EV-5 is a more cheaply made and does not feel as substantial IMHO. However, if you want something with a "short" throw, the EV-5 fits the bill. I was playing with the pedal interface, using it for a wah-wah pedal controlling MOTM filters. I found that the throw on the FC-7 was a little long and the EV-5 was easier to use in that particular case. But, overall, I like the FC-7 much better as you have much more accurate control with the longer throw. So, who knows the difference in the various Yamaha models? Yamaha FC-5 Yamaha FC-7 Yamaha FC-9 Roland EV-5 are all tested and approved. I'm sure there are others.
