My $.02 forget particle board. Get a good grade of plywood. Also note that some plywood thickness (particularly the thin ones) are available in varied construction layers. The more layers, the better. for example, you can get 1/2 plywood in 3 layers of 5. Warp? Sure, the cheap stuff (3 layer CDX) that is sometimes used for roofing will, but not the good stuff.
