MOTM

I was hoping to get into the DX type FM.  So you're saying that DX 
FM uses through-zero waveforms that actually reverse the phase of 
the carrier signal, and MOTM VCO's will not reverse, so I can't do 
that kind of FM?  

My explorations into FM thus far usually yield waveforms that for 
lack of a better work, suck. I usually end up pulling out the patch 
chords and going back to the good ol sawtooth.  

Anyone have any suggestions for creating interesting waveforms or 
cool FM patches with their MOTM?
