If we reverse the voice order (put Voice 1 on the bottom row), keeping horizontal rows, then 99%
of the users (1 or 2 voice systems) will fill up the 2 lower rows only, keeping the areas around
the LCD and buttons free and clear. You can use the rear MIDI jack and that keeps it as
clutter-free as possible.

If  you go to a vertical layout, it doesn't reduce clutter that much, but some make prefer it.
