It won't work without cutting the rack rail. The lip that normally resides behind the module at the top and bottom (where Paul reserved 1/2 inch in the layout) will interfere with the jacks and PCB mounting. If you were willing to do some heavy cutting / grinding on the MOTM rails, you sure could.
