As I mentioned, my problem has been solved in a different way (ie has
nothing to do with my 110).  The problem I was seeing might not be the same
as yours, and one of the many proposed solutions may work for you.

So there is a way to have faster attacks (lower than 4) 
without clicks? What's that solution then? Zero cross 
detection of some kind? Or the filtering that was 
mentioned? Curious!
