RE: [motm] Swapping Power Supplies

2005-08-25 by J. Larry Hendry

The 19" 2U high rack panels (if you are rack mounting) I sell for power supplies will hold larger supplies. I have some of them not drilled for 900 for just such occasions.

The 800 mA Power One supply that comes in the MOTM-900 is a different size (namely, smaller) than the HBB15-1.5A. Check oot either the Power One site or DigiKey: both list the dimensions of the supplies. The larger supplies will not be "screw compatible" with the 3U '900 mounting panel.

Just the fuse. The fuse rating you need is printed on the side of the
power supply. I use standard 5mm X 20mm fuses, "Slo-Blo" type from Bussman
or Littelfuse.
