I just browsed the tutorial http://www.synthtech.com/tutor/tutor1.html

Paul advises a good DVM and refers to his Fluke 87.

Is that the predecessor of the current model 187?
Is it still recommendable? (I'd say "yes")

I'm in the market for a new, good DMM (DVM for a lifetime so to speak), 
hence my question.
