Years ago (amazingly long ago in terms of electronics technology) I saw the 
Waldorf Wave.  I dreamed of owning a synthesizer like this, yet even among 
artists that can afford such a product there seemed to be few sold.  Reality 
seems to be that many "artists" have barely explored the limits of a Yamaha 
DX7, so they certainly don't need something more advanced.  Synthesizer 
technology has come a long way since the 70's, but has electronic music 
really advanced that much?
