The "official" MOTM soft sync mod is to put a 4K7 resistor in series with the sync jack connection. This shows up in the latest revision to the 300 documentation (published on 7/25/99 after many of us built our first round of VCOs) on page 17. The unused top lug on the jack is used for the connection point so the resistor does not need to dangle like it does on those crummy jacks (bananas weren't they) you were using. :) The wire to the PCB connects to the top lug and the resistor goes from top to left. Does anyone have the latest (best?) soft sync mod for the 300 handy? I'm finishing changing out my jacks (and replacing my substandard switches -- I broke em while trying to compete with Larry for the Mr. MOTM Universe competition) in the rest of my MOTM, and I have these resistors dangling off the sync inputs for reasons which I can't remember.
