And to add to this thread, since I bought an oscilloscope several months ago 
I was able to hook up two probes to the MOTM.  One before a filter and one 
after, which allows you to easily see the phase shifted output of the filter 
as you sweep the cutoff frequency around.  So when you mix the sound before 
the filter with the filtered sound and sweep the cutoff you get a phaser 
sound.  Now hook up a bunch of filters and create the ultimate custom 
phaseshifter.

And if the scope is X-Y, hook original into X and output into Y. Then, sweep
at about 100Hz with a triangle :)
