MicroModuleMania

2001-12-07 by Paul Schreiber

a) JH's WiggleBug LFO will be a module. There will be a '500 series module, 'invented' by Robert
Rich this summer, that is *kind of* like this for audio frequencies, with voltage control. It's
called a "VCO Cloud". More details after NAMM. Hint: he emulated the sound using 9 (!)
VCO/self-oscillating filters on Track #1 of 'Bestiary'.

b) There will also be a 1U wide MOTM-990 "Power Supply". This uses an external 'table top' supply
(universal input works anywhere in the world). The 1U panel has +-15V regulators, power switch,
LED, and 10 MTA-156s. Looks like a $99 kit (includes the 'table slug', brother to the 'wall
wart').

So, in a 5U "rack bag" (padded, portable 5U tall tote bag, nifty suckers, about $70) you can
stuff:

1 MOTM-990 supply
3 MOTM-310 uVCO
1 MOTM-390 uLFO (my design so far, 2 LFOs, 1 fixed/1 VC'd)
1 MOTM-490 uVCF
2 MOTM-800 EG
1 MOTM uMixer
1 MOTM-110/130 VCAs (will evolve into 1ea uVCA and 1ea uNoise/RM)

we be jammin'

and the whole thing fits under your arm.

Funny... I've always called them "Brick on a Leash" power supplies.
Must be a New England thing.

You must be surrounded by sugar maples. Here in the Deep South (ie.
Connecticut) we call them "line lumps" :)

Paul -

For a setup like the one you describe below, we'll need a mults for
1V/OCT and GATE. That's two 4-ways, or thereabouts. What about
putting these on the 990? Would there be noise problems?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
