Here is the *proposed* MOTM-650 MIDI-CV panel. If you have comments, now is the time.

Yes, it *does* have rear MIDI jacks, you don't have to use the front panel one. You just can't
have 2 plugged in at the same time.

Tip o' the hat to Moe the PhotoShop Whiz.

Hmm - I assume there is some technical reason why the MIDI jack
doesn't line up on center with the clock jack?

Not only it doesn't line up but I think there's a slight scaling
error since it seems to me that the MIDI receptacle is too small if
compared to the jacks size, in any case this shouldn't make any
noticeable difference to the jack/plug arrangement.

because they are both soldered to the same pc board, and the MIDI jack is taller.

This looks great! A few things...

1) I may have missed this, if I did, my apologies... Since there is no
Midi-Thru on the front of either this or the 600, to avoid a Midi distrib
box, can the Midi-In jack in front be used at the same time as the Midi-Thru
in bacK? That way one can connect the Midi-Thru connection (in back) to the
Midi In jack in back of the 600.

2) Is there a way to "daisy chain" the Ext Clock signal to other modules
from the rear of the modules?

3) Is there any reason that the buttons on the 600 series are not
standardized?

4) I vote for the "horizontal" layout.

Yes, the MIDI outs are wired-OR together via open-collectors on the optocouplers. THRU on the
back doesn't "know" where the data came from.

No, buy more MOTM-910s. My children starve.

I didn't know there *was* a "button standard".

If you mean like the pretty blue ones on the uSeq, they won't fit (too wide).

Seems like a MIDI Thru would be a good idea. I know that technically it
is better to "distribute" but for a simple setup, a "Thru" is very
handy.

Really good point about THRU...

I don't understand the "point", there IS THRU on the back.
