posting and text... last from me...

2003-04-14 by Moog

At someones request, I am emailing from my Yahoo account in plain
text. I normally email from my personal account, but the "blue text"
has irratated a few. So my new plan is, post less... solder more, and
keep modules "factory stock." Or not tell anyone here... sheesh! The
blue text on my "personal home account stays." So much for MY 1st
ammendment rights...

I wouldn't take that comment too seriously. Nobody should mind what
color you use to post, and if they do, tough. I don't know of any
eye disorder that would make blue text on white difficult to see, and
that would be the only legitimate reason I could think of.

This coming from a guy that ordered Purple cables with Green heat
shrink :)

As for modding your MOTM, go for it. That's what DIY is all about,
even if Paul can't stand Blue LEDs (I don't like them either, BTW,
but who cares?)

And don't stop posting, for heaven's sake!

I don't mind about various colours of text.
I have problems with html mails, though. Sometimes they even
try to open an internet connection on my PC automatically when
I open them. (I fixed that meanwhile, but IMO html mails are simply
unnecessary. At best, they make no difference. At worst, they can be
annoying.)

(I have no idea if I was the one who you refer to - I certainly didn't
complain about blue text, but I sent a plea not to use html mail to
someone recently.)

JH.

Ach, scheisse! Richtig! I forgot about HTML, and that's probably
the only way to get blue text come to think of it. HTML email is
evil for many reasons, as Jurgen has pointed out. You can (and
should IMO) turn off HTML email in the Account Info section.

Still, blue text in and of itself is not bad...

Hey Moog, blue text is not an issue. We're just not very HTML-email-friendly
around here. But, we ARE *very* DIY-friendly! Definitely don't keep your DIY
mods (or your opinions, for that matter) to yourself; most of us are quite
interested. And there's no religion to keeping these modules "unscathed", at
least not a viable one. It's all about learning and having fun while trying to
make interesting sounds!

Cheers,
George
