FW: [motm] Cable holders
2003-04-15 by Tkacs, Ken
I've got a horribly informal system, but it's what I end up using. I bought a bunch of those 'sheet metal comb' cable holders, like the ones Mouser carries, but I end up not using them too much in my perpetual rush. Instead, I have a lot of 'tube' furniture -- my keyboard rack for instance is made of tubular metal. (Totally tubular, man.) I have a lot of these lighting clamps made by Bogen from my old video days, and I clamp them all over the tubular furniture legs. The clamps have a lever-like tightening handle that ends up sticking straight upward. I can drape about 200 pounds of cables off of each one of these handles. The clamps do not slip. I have them all over the studio, separated mostly by ends (1/4"-1/4", 1/4"-BNC, 1/4"-RCA, and so on). Now I need to throw a few more up and sort by my stooge cable colors. By the way, everyone else has said it, so now it's my turn: these cables are wonderful, gorgeous! Thank you Larry, and thank you Paul for the logo. It may seem like a small detail, but I really love the logo on the heatshrink. Now I will accept no other cables in my modular!
