1. On-topic:
Does anyone have suggestions for an inexpensive "bench" power supply?

I've been using my MOTM power supply, which means taking it out of the
cabinet, or using a really long power connector! 

2. Off-topic:
What is up with the gnome banners?

The bench-top suppy I have used 12hrs/day for the last 8 years is a Leader LPS-152. There is a
smaller wattage one, just as good called the LPS-151.
