coax cable for cabinet bus

coax cable for cabinet bus

2004-08-25 by Dino Leone

I'm about to finish my first few MOTM modules (and
already got addicted to Paul's work). Now I am also
building a wooden cabinet including a "Magic Bus" as
described on Stooge Larry's webpage (which, by the
way, is just awesome!! Congrats on this, Larry!).

So here's my question for you experts: what kind
(brand, spec) of coax cable can you recommend for
wiring a cabinet-internal bus (mults etc)?

Many thanks in advance,

Dino

I use RG-174. That's the black coax used in the kits.

Thanks for the Kudos.
RG-174 is also what is used on the magic bus. But, on the multiples right
next to each other I am simply using 22 gauge hook up wire these days. Not
much values to 1/2 inch of shielding between two adjacent jacks. :-)

VC EG?

2004-08-30 by Paul Wagorn

Apologies if this has been covered before, but Paul - when are we going to
see a VC EG?

Thanks!

Don't know if they've been already stooged but Tony Allgood has a very
nice VC-ADSR: http://oakleysound.co.uk/vc-adsr.htm

Due to the unofficial stooge/motm non-proliferation of EGs pact I doubt this
will ever be stooged.

Last we heard on this topic, Crow was working on a VC EG, tentatively
labelled the MOTM-880 that was similar in function to a CS-80 EG (but
not exactly the same), and was looking for some dual concentric pots
to make it all fit into a 2U panel. There were even some sample panel
layouts posted. But we haven't heard a peep about it in quite a
while. Search the archives for 880 for some good details from Crow
himself.
